Military.com and Monster.com Launch Enhanced Veterans Career Center
MCLEAN, Va.--(May 27, 2011)--Military.com, a business unit of Monster Worldwide, Inc. launched a new and improved Veterans Career Center, the latest step in a long-term commitment to connecting veterans and jobs.
"Our veterans, particularly those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan are facing challenges reentering the workforce"
The enhanced Veterans Career Center features broader application of the Military Skills Translator, a unique online tool that helps decode military jobs into civilian equivalents and information about upcoming Career Expos that help match veterans and employers. The enhancements also include faster page loading time and improved navigation.
"Our veterans, particularly those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan are facing challenges reentering the workforce," said Sal Iannuzzi, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Monster Worldwide. "This is why we're harnessing our technology to help veterans determine how to market their military skills into a meaningful career and connecting them with employers. Companies can do their part by recognizing that veterans make great employees and that the best way to thank them for their service is to hire them."
Military.com and Monster.com provide a wide variety of tools for veterans seeking jobs and for employers wishing to hire veterans. In addition to the Skills Translator, the site includes the following features:

President of Military.com and retired Rear Admiral T. McCreary said, "Military.com and Monster.com have been connecting veterans with jobs for more than a decade. But we continue to push to improve what is already a go-to resource for companies and veterans."
