Recruitment Industry Sees Sunny Skies for 2010, Sendouts Survey Finds Recruiters Expect More Job Orders, Greater Fees, More Staff, New Technology
The recruitment industry overwhelmingly expects 2010 to be a year of sunny skies and good news in the wake of the economic recession, according to a new market study by Sendouts, the leading, single-source provider of staffing and recruiting software for third-party recruiting and staffing firms.
St. Louis, Mo. (February 23, 2010) -- The recruitment industry overwhelmingly expects 2010 to be a year of sunny skies and good news in the wake of the economic recession, according to a new market study by Sendouts, the leading, single-source provider of staffing and recruiting software for third-party recruiting and staffing firms.
"Perhaps because of the flood of candidates into the market during the recession, recruiters don't expect the volume of candidates to rise equal to the number of job orders in 2010"

According to the Sendouts study, 72 percent of U.S. recruiters expect to have more job orders in 2010, and nearly 31 percent expect their placement fees to increase as much as 10 percent. A detailed look at the survey's results are available now in the new Sendouts research report, "2010 Recruitment Outlook: Sunshine after the Storm."
"Perhaps because of the flood of candidates into the market during the recession, recruiters don't expect the volume of candidates to rise equal to the number of job orders in 2010," said Don Breckenridge, Jr., President of Sendouts. "This could mean that finding the best candidates for an expanding number of job orders will become even more challenging in the year ahead."
The survey also found that compared with 2009, significant numbers of recruiters expect 2010 to bring:
Increased candidate volume
Better candidate quality
Fees to stay the same or increase
Purchase of a new Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution
"The results of this survey are a call to recruiters that although organizations will be hiring again in 2010, the purse strings will be tight, and recruiters will need the best sourcing and ATS solutions to find and land the best candidates quickly and cost-effectively," Breckenridge said.
When asked specifically about changes they see for acquiring new candidates in 2010:
27 percent of all respondents said they expect to add staff
23 percent said they expect to add new technology
10 percent said they expect to outsource
