Re: Venture Capital Funding/Venture Partnering For Web Site Developers/Entrepreneurs

Hello;

My firm is currently considering providing financial and strategic backing of promising websites and website developers. It is my job to determine the viability of this project.

Our Background

We (DataMerge, Inc.) are currently the largest provider of financing/financial information to businesses, intermediaries and financing professionals worldwide. Our information products and financial application software is distributed via stand alone software products, custom stand-alone databases, and most recently, over the internet.

DataMerge has been featured in publications including Inc., Financial Times, Entrepreneur, Success, Denver Post, and LA Times to name a few.

What we provide

DataMerge's existing development, marketing and distribution channels can provide website developers with the backing they need to quickly (and profitably) move an idea through development and into the market.

Without this kind of backing, most ideas never make it to market, and if they do, fail because the developer doesn't have the resources to properly market the product.

What we're looking for:

1. In the long run

We feel that over time, and even immediately, there is a lot of opportunity on the web. Of course, for us to commit to web development projects, we need to locate website developers who:

  • Need financial backing
  • Have ideas/plans for development of profitable sites.
  • Have the ability to take the project from start to finish.
  • Have entrepreneurial aptitude.
We anticipate that we may eventually work with people from all professional and educational backgrounds, including recent college grads.

2. Immediately

Right now, we need to get an idea if we can generate a sufficient number of quality responses/proposals to warrant further pursuit of this market at this time.

If you feel you can develop a profitable site/service, please respond to the following preliminary questions. Every answer will be given full consideration. If we feel an opportunity exists, we will contact you for further evaluation, and if warranted, deal structuring.

******* DataMerge, Inc. Site Developer Questionnaire *******

Please provide abbreviated answers ... no more than 3 or four sentences for each answer and email to VentureWeb@aol.com.

1. Describe your product (ie type of web-site or service do you propose to develop?)

2. What industry, market and customer type will it serve?

  • A. Industry
  • B. Market
  • C. Customer Type
3. Excluding growth of WWW, is your industry, market and demand for your product expanding or contracting, and why?

4. Why would they use your product over what's currently available?

5. Who would your competitors be?

6. What are the weaknesses and strengths of your competitors?

7. List the five primary benefits customers get from your product.

  • A. Benefit 1
  • B. Benefit 2
  • C. Benefit 3
  • D. Benefit 4
  • E. Benefit 5
8. We already have gotten a lot of responses to this survey. Why should we choose you over any of the other respondents?
