Personality Testing: Frame This
Meanwhile, someone should call 911 and get this guy an emergency tailor.
On a slightly more serious note, if you are in college and thinking about your career, you might want to assume the best from Job Direct and register with them. You've never met a more passionate group. They're going to be useful allies as you position yourself to enter the work world.
I want My MTV
Q: What's 31 feet long, has 15 processors and 6 wheels, and wants to help you find a job?Job Direct is a scrappy little job matching service for college students with big ambitions. We bet they're the first to use MTV as a job advertising scheme. And, they have cool little graphics. And, they're going to drive around the country in a bus promoting the site (we're jealous). But, they require registration before you see the system and don't tell you what they'll do with your data. Seems like they are more interested in finding out about you than they are in helping you find a job. Don't bother.
New Newsgroup Tool
You can use a site like Liszt for locating topical mailing lists and newsgroups, but it can be very time consuming to read and monitor these forums on a regular basis. A service like DejaNews is more useful in that it allows you to search mailing list and newsgroup archives for a text string such as your company name. However, you still need to remember to do this on a regular basis. Reference.com is a new site that combines the best of Liszt and DejaNews and takes the service one step further. In addition to topical and archive searches, registered users can store complicated queries to run at a later date. Queries can also be run automatically at a specified intervals so that each time the search is run, you receive an e-mail message that contains the results found since the last search. This is currently the best way to search the newsgroups for work if you are in a small enough specialty area. HOLIDAY HUNTING
Consider this. Workloads generally ease up and hiring managers are in a more relaxed mode. Now is a greeat time to ramp up your efforts and zero in on the precise person you want to work for. It's actually easier to get attention during December than most other times of the year. Medieval Self-Assessment
Kingdomality offers a nice diversion from the process. The survey asks you to answer a series of questions that result in a profile of your personality in Medieval Terms. It can be illuminating or silly. You'll find it to be an interesting diversion or a recreational excursion. In any case, visit Kingdomality.
