Archives: Week Ending August 10, 1996If you're looking for work in a computing related field in England, we suggest a quick look at Insight Resources. The firm offers job listings for Permanent and Contract positions. The site also offers extensive access to other Employment sites from around the world. We've added another article in our ongoing series from Paul Forde. Called Choosing The Right Recruiter, Forde details the pluses and minuses of developing a relationship with a recruiter and how to integrate it with your job search. Avotek is an international publisher of recruiting guides. If you're considering relocation to Europe (or within Europe), we bet that their books are indispensible. And, they're still the only folks we know with a tribute to Max Headroom on the site. If you are looking for a job in a professional field and speak English as well as Japanese, Chinese or Korean, then you need to check out the Current Asia-Net job listings. They also offer regular mailing lists sorted by language. Subscribing to a mailing list is free and will allow you to receive new job descriptions via e-mail as soon as they are released. The latest generations of HTML page-making tools are maturing into extremely useful workplace tools. We sat a new employee, who had never seen HTML, down in front of a workstation running Claris Home Page (available as a test download at the Claris Site). She was creating tables and making graphic sizing decisions in under an hour. Claris offers Home Page in both Mac and Windows versions. The retail version of the product includes six months of free web-hosting services. The new tools (including Microsoft's Front Page) take all of the mystery out of HTML...just as it should be. You should be able to easily build your resume using either piece of software. Looking for Contactor possibilities in the Information Tech arena? Check out VOLT It must be love. We are so impressed with JobSmart, that we wanted to reemphasize the power of this new website. If you have the slightest bit of technophobia or are simply starting out in your job hunt, put JobSmart at the top of your bookmark list. Why? The site is particularly well written, easy to understand and completely focused on making your job hunt successful. Though its emphasis is employment in Northern California, JobSmart offers tremendously clear information on:
Many of the items are also included in the Tools Area. The Web's largest collection of Employment related resources is also included in the Tools Area. If you know of a resource that we should review, please let us know at Jean Collins |
