What Should You Do Today? August 05, 2002 You have had a cup of coffee and scanned the classifieds for any new job listings. You call and see how many interviews you can schedule. Now, you sit at your computer to see what might be helpful in your job search. Well, here are a few suggestions: 1. If you are feeling a bit off, perhaps depressed or angry - please remember - changing jobs is hard. You can't always control the way you feel, but you can decide what to do next. 2. Grab a notebook and begin keeping a log of your efforts. It is important to be able to look over your efforts on the days when you don't think you have done enough. 3. Track your time and set limits for the time spent on a task. This will help keep you from becoming sidetracked - an easy thing to do online. 4. Look at employment911.com and consider signing up for a free email account, save my jobs feature, resume posting, job search organizer and personal web calendar. The site has a wide array of interesting tools that might prove useful.(Some are free and some have a cost.) 5. It is important to work on your job hunt. It is vital that you get out there and interview for jobs. Don't wait for them to call for you. Get on the phone and see about scheduling interviews. Remember: the more you interview, the better you get at it.
