(November 9, 2012) EmployeeScreenIQ Undertakes 4th Annual Survey to Measure Trends in Employment Background Checks
In a year that saw increased government scrutiny around background screening and a flurry of resulting legislation and litigation, what are the issues that concern human resources professionals most as they struggle to maintain compliance? That's what global screening provider EmployeeScreenIQ aims to find out as it embarks on its much-anticipated, fourth annual survey measuring trends in employment screening.
Criminal records, credit checks, resume distortion and social networking are among the serious challenges facing the HR community when conducting background checks. And all this is under the watchful eye of federal and state regulators such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Council (EEOC), which issued new guidance on the use of criminal background checks this year. In this six-minute survey, EmployeeScreenIQ seeks to measure the various influences on employers' hiring decisions and how they respond when adverse information is revealed about a candidate. It also covers concerns about the screening process itself and employers' criteria for choosing a screening provider.
Human resources professionals, hiring managers, recruiters and industry experts across North America are encouraged to access the brief survey here. All participants will receive an executive summary of the survey results when they become available. They will also be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a new iPad Mini. An estimated 3,000 HR professionals have shared their opinions via EmployeeScreenIQ's annual survey since it first debuted in 2009.
