(July 2, 2012) More Companies Engaging the Experts for Strategic Social Media Planning and Development TMP Worldwide Reports Double-Digit Growth in Social Media Retainer Agreements
TMP Worldwide Advertising & Communications, LLC, a talent acquisition company, reported that more employers are seeking ongoing social media expertise as they realize the potential impact and opportunities social media presents when building employment brand and developing successful relationships with candidates.
TMP found that, in the last six months, it has experienced an 85 percent increase in contracted retainer agreements, delivering social media strategy and services to clients compared to the same period a year ago. It also has seen triple-digit growth (nearly 300 percent) in client requests for social media strategy and services programs in Q2 of 2012 as compared to first quarter results.
According to a survey by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), there has been a significant increase in the use of social media for recruiting purposes over the last few years. More than one-half (56 percent) of organizations claimed they included social media in their recruiting strategies. As a result of increased focus on these channels, more employers are engaging TMP Worldwide to develop and maintain their social! media pages – including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, among others – and to provide invaluable insight on emerging trends in social media and recruiting.
In response to the increased demand, TMP expects to launch several new solutions in the next few months that will further assist employers as they strengthen and manage their online presence, engage candidates directly though social networking channels, and deliver a clear and consistent multimedia employment brand across all media.
“Social media is a rich source of potential job candidates for employers, and it’s critical that companies provide job seekers with the information and resources they’re seeking to maintain a competitive advantage,” commented Anthony Andre, senior vice president of Social Media Strategy for TMP Worldwide. “As recruiters and HR professionals are pressed to do more with less, TMP is rising to support this increased demand, and work with our clients to identify, create and manage their social presences to extend their brands into the digital arena and interact with candidates on their terms.”
