What is the Future of Retirement for Employers?
(March 21, 2011) Join Mercer's second Innovation Conversation - The Future of Retirement
Mercer's second Innovation Conversation webcast - "The Future of Retirement" - will take place Thursday, April 14, 9:30 am Eastern. Business leaders, policy experts, and journalists are invited to participate in a dynamic and informative discussion focused on how societal, regulatory, financial and workforce dynamics are transforming the very nature of retirement, and what employers can and should do to stay on top of these trends.
"The long-accepted model of 'retirement' is literally changing before our very eyes," said Jacques Goulet, US Leader of Mercer's Retirement, Risk and Finance consulting business. "Employers are being forced to completely rethink the relationship between the cost and risk of retirement plans versus strategic and competitive management of their workforces. At the same time employees, especially Baby Boomers who are near or at retirement, are rightly concerned with adequate retirement income given their longer life expectancy and perhaps less-than-ideal savings efforts. These dynamics will serve as the framework for Mercer's upcoming Innovation Conversation as we explore some possible solutions to the increasingly complex retirement puzzle."
Moderated by seven-time Emmy Award winning news anchor Paula Zahn, highlights will include:
- Interviews with Mercer thought leaders on the means by which employers can manage their retirement plans in ways that help them meet financial, risk and workforce objectives
- A panel discussion on The Future of Retirement featuring speakers from leading organizations such as eBay Inc., Pfizer Inc., Symantec Corporation and the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College
- Question and answer sessions throughout the event
