Monster.com Launches New Solutions for Job Seekers to Search Anywhere, Anytime

(March 16, 2011)
New mobile job search app for Android and Google Chrome extension now available

Monster.com, the leading job matching engine and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc., introduced technology solutions and user experience features that give job seekers and career minded professionals the flexibility and convenience they want in searching for jobs and exploring opportunities. Seekers can now take their job search on the go with on demand mobile job search.

"Influenced by recent trends in social and mobile, job seekers are changing the way they engage online. Monster is continuously evaluating these trends and adapting our products and services to serve job seekers and, by doing so, extending the reach to our employer customers"

Search on the go with mobile apps
Monster just released a new job search mobile app for the Android platform as the latest in a line-up that also includes apps for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The Monster Android app can be downloaded for free on Monster.com and at the Android Market, making it easy to keep up with the latest job opportunities anytime, anywhere. The Monster app for Android puts Monster's advanced job matching technology in the palm of your hand and provides access to search for jobs; view and apply; and manage your Monster account, including accessing previously saved job searches.

New Google Chrome Extension
Monster has also developed a Chrome extension for the Google Chrome browser. This beta release is available through Google's Chrome Web Store for the U.S. When a user is browsing using Google Chrome, the extension will automatically check for jobs posted on Monster based on the URL visited (e.g., visitors on [nameofcompany.com] may see jobs from [name of company]).

If jobs are found, a Monster sidebar appears and displays the number of jobs. Users may view the jobs without navigating away from the site, and then also click to apply on Monster. The sidebar can list up to 99 jobs that are posted within the last 7 days. Alternatively, users may also click on the small Monster icon in the URL bar to go directly to Monster's job search results to view all jobs for the company.

"Influenced by recent trends in social and mobile, job seekers are changing the way they engage online. Monster is continuously evaluating these trends and adapting our products and services to serve job seekers and, by doing so, extending the reach to our employer customers," said Vasu Nagalingam, Senior Product Director for consumer platforms at Monster Worldwide.
