TheGabrielInstitute.com featured at Discovering Startups

(August 4, 2010)
Every now and then we print articles from the Gabriel Institute. Their Role-Based Assessment product has an amazing ability to predict how people will perform on a team. The ability to know the quality of a person's behavior on your team --before you hire them--can result in huge savings of time and cost. On the flip side - anyone who has hired the wrong person knows that such a mistake can take a big toll on the short term and long term success of the company.

After more than 25 years of research and development, The Gabriel Institute introduced "RBA" as an online assessment in mid-2009, and they are having success in many areas. We just noticed that they are doing rather well on DiscoveringStartups.com. DiscoveringStartups is an easy way to keep an eye on unusual and innovative businesses (mostly internet-based), and on what is getting funded or needs funding.

If you'd like to help The Gabriel Institute out by voting for them on DiscoveringStartups, Here's the link: http://www.discoveringstartups.com/thegabrielinstitute-com-predict-how-people-will-perform-in-teams/

Quick info on Discovering Startups, in their words:
The concept behind Discovering Startups is simple:
No matter how many employees a startup is comprised of, how much funding it has secured, or what space it operates in - the one thing that remains universal is the desire to have their story heard.

Having founded numerous companies, we at Discovering Startups know the pain of working night and day to roll out a brand new product, only to have to fight an equally hard battle to gain attention and recognition. Journalists and notable bloggers have hundreds of stories competing for their attention, and getting a few minutes of their time can be next to impossible - let alone convincing them to write a story about your company. Furthermore, most PR firms are simply too expensive for the vast majority of struggling tech startups.

So, our mission is simple:
Give any tech startup a chance to be heard.

We accept submissions from any startup company - regardless of funding, location, or team size - and review them for free on a daily basis. We have reviewed startups that are little more than an entrepreneur's part-time hobby, as well as some that have secured multiple rounds of venture capital funding. We give that service to virtually all startups for free.

However, we also know that telling the story is only half the battle.

Much of building a startups' brand is the recognition it receives from its initial adopters. Yet in the same way as garnering press, finding ways of differentiating a budding brand in the media can be difficult. So, we invite our readers to vote for their favorite startups in a monthly "best-of" contest at Discovering Startups. The full explanation is here, but in addition to the free press every startup receives from being reviewed, the most-voted startups will be featured in a Discovering Startups news post, win a "Best of Discovering Startups" Award which they can place on their website, and additional coverage from our press partners.

We will never charge startups to either be reviewed or participate in the contest, and we are excited to offer this platform for startups to showcase their message.

We look forward to hearing about your startups and welcome any feedback!
