Job Boards Going Mobile:
CollegeRecruiter.com Leads the College Job Board Niche Into the Palms of Students and Grads
(April 13, 2009) CollegeRecruiter.com, the leading job board for college students hunting for internships and recent graduates looking for entry level jobs and other career opportunities, announced today that it has become one of the first job boards and the first college job board to create a fully functional, mobile web site at CollegeRecruiter.mobi.
"We decided a few years ago that the future of the Internet was mobile, but the significant investment in building and maintaining a second version of our web site wasn't worth it until now," said Steven Rothberg, founder of CollegeRecruiter.com. Visitors to the CollegeRecruiter.mobi mobile job board will find a fully functional job board. All of the articles, blogs, job postings, and other content on CollegeRecruiter.com also run on the mobile site. Other job boards which claim to be mobile, however, aren't truly mobile because candidates who find job postings of interest on those other sites aren't able to apply to the jobs right away. Instead, they must email a link to the job to themselves, go to a computer, and apply using the web version of the job board. "CollegeRecruiter.mobi is truly mobi," said Rothberg. "You can search the job database on your mobile just like you're on your computer. You can read the job postings on your mobile just like you're on your computer. And you can apply to the job postings on your mobile just like you're on your computer. There's no need to email a link. If a job is posted at 9:00am and you find it at 9:10am, you can apply to at 9:10am and be the first candidate to apply."
