As we prepare for the Roving Reporter Videos, we decided that it would be good to get things moving by starting to get info out to you
about industry leaders we think that you should know about. We are looking forward to sharing some of them with you on video soon.
We are going to start the series off with Don Ramer, CEO of Arbita.
Don Ramer, CEO of Arbita, began his career in executive search in 1974. Over the next 6 years, he served as assistant to the president at two AESC (Association of Executive Search Consultants) registered firms.
In 1980 he formed the Ramer Group, a recruiting firm that specialized in placing Data Security Executives in major financial institutions.
In 1986 he launched the Recruitment Research Institute and served as Executive Director. During his time at the Institute, he published a newsletter for the Human Resources community entitled The Alternative Employment Marketplace. He also gave seminars throughout the US on "Improving Quality and Reducing Costs Through the Alternative Employment Marketplace." Much of the Institute's research was published and distributed by The Bureau of National Affairs.
In 1988 Don launched the Employment Management Group, a high-level management consultancy that specialized in helping large employers improve their recruitment processes. In addition to intensive review of recruitment and selection effectiveness, the EMG team planned, directed, organized and controlled recruitment and selection strategy, tactics, and operations on behalf of clients in the telecommunications and enterprise software industries.
In August of 1993, Don worked with America Online to boost sales of their Online Recruitment Advertising products. In 1996 he and his partners launched Recruit USA, Inc. which was re-branded as Arbita in March of 2006.
The launch of Arbita signified the company's determination to meet the global requirements of its customers. Throughout its history, Arbita has defined Best Practices in web recruiting for many of the world's leading employers.
In 2006, Don joined the Advisory Board of Kennedy Information's Recruiting Trends, the corporate recruiting community's online resource for new strategies and tactics.
In 2008, he was elected to the Board of Governors of the International Association of Employment Web Sites (IAEWS), where he works with his colleagues to improve the industry.
Keep an eye out for us because we will be looking to get an interview with you.
