Corporate Recruiting Videos (February 11, 2008) In the course of the last few months we have been looking into use of Video including: - Recruiting Video Tips 1. Keep your video brief and direct 2. Don't use actors, teleprompters, or staged actions 3. Condense your feedback 4. Security 5. One year life span - Thoughts from Lars-Henrik Friis-Molin, the founder of CareerTV. - And a review of the Ford Recruiting Video Today we'll be looking into what is going on at Vault, a leading media company that focuses on careers. Vault.com. is redefining Company recruiting videos by skipping the corner office and going straight to the viewers' peers - the people with whom they will be working if they take the job. According to a recent Vault survey, 63% of undergraduate and graduate students would most like to see their peers and younger associates featured in a company's recruiting video, rather than mid-level managers (24%), senior level executives (8%) and H.R. department representatives (5%). Respondents identified "insight from people who work there" as what matters most in a company's recruiting video. Vault's videos focus on culling this insight from a range of younger associates. They're designed to ask real questions about why employees chose the firm and what it's really like to work there. For example, in Vault's video for PricewaterhouseCoopers, a Skidmore College grad speaks about how the partners sit near the associates to encourage communication - "They have an open door policy with the partners … They give you avenues to meet a lot of people and make you feel at home." "Young people are very smart and sophisticated these days," said Eric Ober, head of Vault Television and Video. "They want the 'skinny' on the job, the company, the opportunities for growth and the benefits. " Vault has injected the typical infomercial-like recruiting video with a shot of reality, speaking to viewers in the way they respond to most - fun, honest, fast-paced and from the heart.
