Atlanta Recruiting Roadshow Recap
(October 03, 2007) A week
ago, we barnstormed
Atlanta. With our own version of a
flying circus, led by the one and only
Amitai Givertz, the
Atlanta
Recruiting Roadshow left the audience smiling and hungry for more. Over
the next couple of weeks, you'll hear more about the material and the
presenters.Where else do you get
a day of free professional development content, a free lunch and the
opportunity to mix it up with colleagues in your town? The idea behind
the roadshow is that the vast majority of the professionals in our
industry can't go to trade shows for one simple reason. The cost is
prohibitive.
Less than 1% of the industry are able to
attend a national trade show in any given year. That's why the Roadshows
are free and local.
Atlanta was made possible by strategic
sponsorship grants from
We had an amazing spectrum of presenters
including
Most of all, however, it was the audience on their own turf. Like all
of the major cities in North America, Atlanta has its own unique
culture. It's level of racial and ethnic integration rivals Canadian
cities. The local emphasis on manners is comfortably strict. The
humidity last week was overpowering (the locals were comfortable, the
out-of-towners were sweating in the heat.) The city is cosmopolitan and
intensely local at the same time.
Hearty thanks to the 85 folks who sacrificed a workday to see what we
were up to. As the day closed I spoke with many. Everyone left with a
smile.
We're ramping up to take the roadshows national in 2008.
