Adicio (who recently partnered with Monster in the Newspaper markets) powers hundreds of them. Boxwood Technology (who is the energy behind any interesting association job board) powers hundreds of them. JobCoin puts a job board on your blog. Most ATS providers power hundreds of employment websites. Peter Weddle launched the International Association of Employment Websites in 2006 (Here's their roster). Here's the simple fuel: The Illinois technology community is announcing the launch of the Chicago Job Board Network to help companies target hard-to-reach business and technology talent. MidwestBusiness.com, the Illinois IT Association (ITA), Gapers Block, and Chicagoist have all added job boards to their websites and linked them up. Recruiters can post to any of these sites and instantly reach the combined audiences—more than 600,000 visitors and 2 million page views per month. The Chicago Job Network is powered by JobCoin, a Chicago-based technology company. "There are a wealth of talented people in Chicago who are not browsing traditional job boards," said JobCoin CEO Keith Schacht. "The Chicago Job Board Network helps Chicago companies reach these talented people through the Web sites they love and read daily." (JobCoin) If you have an audience, you can have a job board. This is the ultimate form of the web. This is disintermediation. The number of job boards will continue to grow with little need or hope for consolidation. On the web, profitable audiences are tiny. Mass audiences are accidental and expensive. Technology is cheap. You can even buy it for a percentage of your business volume. Today, according to the International Association of Employment Websites, there are 40,000 employment websites. The number appears to double every three years (BTW, we think the base number is much higher). There are plenty and there are going to be more.
