The
Recruiting Animal, our
industry's very own John Stewart Clone has launched a blogzine called
Recruiting Bloggers.
Apparently Animal's notorious creativity gave out when he named the project.
The writing team includes David Perry,
Maureen Sharib, Amitai Givertz,
Shannon Seery & Julian Gude,
YourHRguy, Colin Kingsbury, Glenn Gutmacher and Shally Elvis Steckerl.
These are the real stars of the new Recruiting media. The idea is simple. Maureen, Glenn
and Shally specialize in sourcing. Perry's selling his job-hunting book.
Shannon & Julian are into online
recruitment marketing. Kingsbury is ATS. YourHRguy is their HR guy. They
promiose Recruitainment Tonight and Ami likes to analyze the value of
recruitment blogging in the manner of
JonathanSwift. In the end,
you get a well-rounded package of rumination.
The project is vastly more interesting than any of the other fledgling
competitors in the Blog-media consolidation game. Sadly, real success
requires a bankroll. We'll vouch for these guys if anyone wants to invest.
Jeff Hunter, willing to
eat his words in public, is throwing a
Talent Unconference at EA in late January. Fed up with the inherent
corruption of the regular venues, Hunter is modeling the event after things
like Foo Camp and
Bar Camp.
The fresh air is blowing through the industry. We suggest that you do
whatever it takes to persuade Jeff that you belong there.
We haven't mentioned it before but
Recruiting.com revamped its look and
feel to include voting. We're still in the stupid club on this one.
According to
Cheezhead, Craigslist has filed cease and desist orders to
Jobster,
Simply Hired,
Indeed asking them to stop spidering
jobs. Hmmmm.
Jobster unveiled
workplace superstar tagging. The tagline for what looks like Jobster 2.2
is "You can tell the world what makes you a workplace superstar". Resume
tagging is a good idea. This is an early attempt to communicate its value.
