We're going to be speaking at the
OnRec conference in Chicago on Sept 12 & 13.
In this case, "we" refers to the fact that my oldest daughter, Bridget, will be
joining me in the presentation. The subject is "Multi-Generational Recruiting".
Bridget is a tireless worker on diversity issues and has plied her trade in New
York City, Ghana, Oakland and New Orleans. Demographics is destiny and we'll be
taking the audience through the numbers to some new realities.
The OnRec Conference is shaping up
to be one of those inspirational startup moments. With an intimate crowd and the
ability to join in on the ground floor, we're expecting to see an interesting
group of folks who can sense the change in the weather. While the others
have drifted into the general mediocrity that promises larger crowds, OnRec has
a laser focus on things online.
It's stunning to discover that a brand new entrant can attract more than half of
the attendance of more established players, even on the very same day. David
Hurst, the driving force behind OnRec, has packaged a fantastic set of speakers
and networking opportunities. Here are a couple of our favorites:
In our business, there is no one smarter than John Bell. CEO of Boxwood
Technologies, Bell has built a successful business by teaching professional
associations how to find the resources with which to reinvent themselves.
Using job boards as a revenue source, Bell is at the heart of a renaissance
in the relevance of associations. His view is somewhere between new and old
style networking.
Joel Cheeseman will be familiar to regular readers. Cheezhead is the
"John the Baptist" of Search Engine Optimization for the online Recruiting
Industry. Always irreverent and sometimes downright silly, Joel will leave
you charged and thinking out of the box.
Tony Lee, the heart of the Recruiting Industry network is running a
panel featuring John Zappe from Classified Intelligence, Peter Weddle and
yours truly. The subject is "The Future of Online Recruiting". Tony has a
remarkable skill at making a topic jump to life. It's too bad that stellar
figures like Weddle and Zappe will be weighted down by our involvement.
John Benson is the charismatic CEO of efinacialcareers.com. His
view on Global Niches promises to be entertaining. Benson is one of the big
secrets of the industry.
If anyone faces a constant hiring struggle, it's McDonalds. Barry Merman
is their Director of Employment Strategy. Tune in to understand how the
global giant addresses employment branding in multilingual small operations.
These are just a few of the key moments. Take the time to
register for OnRec.
