Trovix
Trovix offers the standard stuff. Off site processing of resume data collected from a variety of sources, Applicant tracking system, employment website outsourcing, search relevance feedback. All of the standard stuff. What separates them from their peers is the technology in the search engine process. The Trovix product mines resume data more thoroughly than anything we've ever seen. It has the capacity to intuit a skill set from a larger acronym. It learns. It adopts the preferences of its
users. It is reputed to be able to learn nuanced differences of a company's culture. Trovix is a radical update of an old idea. Back when the market was either Resumix (now a digestive problem at Yahoo) or Restrac (now the Webhire component of Kenexa), search took one of two forms. Webhire offered the complex query that has as its direct descendant the Google query. Keywords and Boolean logic were the way to navigate a resume database. For many years, Webhire was the product of choice for companies that didn't use structured data. Resumix, built on the idea of "lexicons" (here's an interesting little gem) (see our archives from 2000. look at "Zen Standards" and "Two Kinds of People")
was a precise tool for well planned organizations. (It's funny that it ended up at Yahoo). Anyhow, Trovix combines the idea of job description specific structured data and then sets about learning from it. Over large quantities fo Resumes, it has generated huge numbers of sets of relationships between words and ideas. If you work in Wireless communications, it can
infer the standards that you understand. Their personalization module, modeled after Amazon rankings, can be trained to understand a user's preferences and biases. It will skew data results based on user history. With enough refinement, this feature could become a recruiting knowledge management tool. We agreed to stay in touch. We'll keep you posted on the evolution at Trovix. We keep updating the blogroll. There are now 148 Recruiting related blogs. John Sumser © TwoColorHat. All Rights Reserved.
