Google Base

Interestingly, Monster's stock price seems to be accelerating to a set of 2 year highs. Ebay, continuing its stay in the doldrums, seems basically unaffected. Newspaper stocks are under pressure for other reasons. In other words, the stock market sees no impact.

Like most things, technology without content or marketing is a yawn. While the future for Google in our market is interesting indeed, the launch of Google Base is a non-event. People who make their living by scaring their customers, however, are having a field day reading tea leaves that aren't even there.

There's an awful lot of heavy breathing.

Jason Goldberg, at Jobster, has done a good job cataloguing the blogosphere in the initial launch.

We thought we'd wait until there was at least one interesting thing to say on the subject. From here, it looks like that will be late next year at the earliest.
