In The Blogs
(August 04, 2005) This week, we'll take a look at the biggest surprises and disappointments in the Recruiting blogs. Pretty slim pickings.
  1. Jeff Hunter (fresh from vacation) restarts "And Talentism" with a thorough debunking of the critiques of the new vertical search engine companies. Notably, "the stuff that is passing for discourse these days about this market is so poor that I thought it important to bring up a contrary point of view."
  2. Recruiting.com, who we are still trying to love, reaches new lows with "Don't Hire People Who Have Young Kids" and "as a recruiter, no matter what the skill set of the candidate, if that candidate has been at the same company for 10 years or more, you should take a red marker and draw a big x through it and throw it in the garbage".
  3. The Microsoft recruiters are still side-stepping the non-compete conversation even though their front office started the ruckus.
  4. In the "State of the Industry - HRMS", Dub Dubs continues his path of providing big value.
  5. NetGen Takes on the Future of the Workplace is served up by Elizabeth Albrycht at Corante. Tasty
  6. Over at Resourcing Strategies, the only coherent response we've seen: HR - responding to being hated.
  7. Lee looked up Google, wasn't poached
  8. Monsterblog responds to Recruiting.com "Just Plain Tired"
  9. Robert Merrill offers Google: The New Microsoft and Losing Money by Saving Money?
