Brassy

(April 25, 2005) - The note with the press release read:

I am reaching out to let you know that BrassRing (www.BrassRing.com), a leading provider of global talent management solutions, today announced enhancements to its award-winning talent management offering - Enterprise.  These enhancements support BrassRing's Workforce by Design™, a unique approach to building better companies by seamlessly integrating innovative technology, consulting and outsourcing with recruitment expertise to give clients the edge they need to successfully meet talent lifecycle challenges -- in any economic climate.

Feature enhancements to the Enterprise offering includes:

  • Customizable and highly configurable system processes for users working with multi-national or multi-divisional organizations
  • Universal Candidate Import capability that allows clients to import “new” candidates from any client-approved third-party or existing ERP system
  • TruSecure Application Certification
  • Enhanced configuration and user interface design on Enterprise Gateways; advanced reporting capability for increased control and accountability; and
  • Infrastructure enhancements to support high-volume recruiting

We thought the note should win some sort of award for the seamless integration of current jargon. We got goosebumps as we leaped from one catch-phrase to the next. The key phrasing seems to be:

These enhancements support BrassRing's Workforce by Design™, a unique approach to building better companies by seamlessly integrating innovative technology, consulting and outsourcing with recruitment expertise to give clients the edge they need to successfully meet talent lifecycle challenges -- in any economic climate

In other words, we'll pretty much do anything you'll pay us for.

Sarcasm aside, this is probably the best business model for a full spectrum provider in our industry. Assuming that you can't achieve the effectiveness of a Hire.com approach (actual recruiting software), customer-centric design is the next best thing.

Sometimes, we're sure that we're seeing the end of software as we know it. The way that recruiting happens in organizations is simply to integral and critical to be boiled down to easily repeatable processes (the essence of software). Like the ERP vendors who preceeded us, the real solution involves a little software and a lot of "consulting". It's good to see that BrassRing is owning this idea.
