GeoLabour II (April 08, 2005) - Sometimes the mailman brings us nice presents. The other day, he brought a heavy package from Europe. In the envelope was a copy of the new 2005 GeoLabour Atlas of Prospective Labour Supply by Gery Coomans. Along with the book was a wonderful note, full of kindness and flattery. (Note to PR people: Good PR means telling your target how smart he/she is, not how great your product is. We've been recently flooded by PR like the one proclaiming "Internet Comes of Age For The Recruitment Industry". More on this later.) At any rate, with an ego chuck full of the pride of paternity, we dug into Mr. Coomans' gift and the associated website....very impressive. Just as you might guess, it's hundreds of pages of color charts describing the labor supply in the US and Europe. GeoLabour, Cooman's company, provides data and tailored consulting from the Macro level down to county level detail. They are available to deliver talks, assist with staffing planning, develop demographic niche targeting and a host of other services. One of the most interesting is their "Local Demographic Leaflet" which details county (or area of your choosing) level details and forecasts at extremely reasonable prices. It's
early in the history of GeoLabour. The products are rock solid and bargain priced. Pretty much anyone in the sourcing or workforce planning business needs a copy of The 2005 GeoLabour Atlas of Prospective Labour Supply. John
