Blogs I
(June 25, 2003) - We've been covering
the blog explosion
for a couple of years now. Instantaneous web publishing coupled with a
journaling ethic lays the groundwork for a next generation of livelier websites.
Most notable, from a strategic perspective, is the
USARMY's
integration of a blog with their recruiting activities. We'll certainly see
more of that in the near future.
A
blog can create a sense of intimacy and immediacy that engages prospective
employees. By creating a moment to moment feel of the new workplace, blogs can
heighten overall employment website effectiveness. If you happen to see a useful
recruiting blog let us know.
On related
fronts, there is a solid expansion of the offerings in the HR and Recruiting
related space.
- Emblog
is produced by our colleague Phil Wolff. It covers a range of employment
related topics.
-
SMS is a feisty and
opinionated (no Sumser fans here) zine focused on Staffing Management Systems.
-
hcm.blogspot.com has shifted from being a single voice to a chorus of
somewhat conflicting voices. It is the most interesting experiment in the space.
-
Boston Works HR Blog is
the most reliable source of regular content.
-
Xtreme News is a part
of Bill Vick's new venture. It
includes interesting interviews with key industry players.
-
Recruiting 101 gets into
the nitty-gritty of recruiting.
- Splits.org
uses blog tools to build their network of recruiters.
-
Talent Management Blog is
an on again off again source of meaty insight about market dynamics. When
good, it's really good.
