So, we polished up the crystal ball this morning. What's coming to the
employment industry, we asked?
Google
does Flipdog came the reply.
From what we can tell,
Google already has a huge inventory of jobs in the database. If you haven't had
a chance, take a look at their news feature. The company indexes and prioritizes
news stories from around the globe into an editor-less new section.
Imagine some of the
possibilities.
- A personalized Google
service that creates a view of the jobs you'd be interested in from all
known sources,
- A Google Career Spot that
tailors web content and jobs into a personalized development section,
- Focused text advertising
for employment services
- Job search results that
are prioritized based on candidate behavior
- Google reports: Your jobs
came up 73 times and you got 12 clicks
- Google resumes:
permission driven searching of files on your machine that you've indicated
are searchable
The list gets very long,
very quickly. The only thing we can imagine that keeps Google from doing this
tomorrow is the current state of the market.
