Competition
(February 04, 2003) --
Whether it's mindshare, advertising dollars, influence or the innovation
spawned from new ideas, we love to see competitors emerge. As far as we're
concerned, our industry has been a backwater for far too long. The more the
merrier, we say.
So, you might want to take a
look at Recruiter Magazine Online,
particularly their inventory of the Top
100 players in our industry. You can register
to receive a variety of online newsletters. The table
of contents shows the depths of this ambitious offering.
Online
Recruitment is a fee based web periodical for the UK Markets. The sheer fact
that someone is trying to do this for subscription fees tells you a lot about
the vitality of the British market. Their Job
Board Database contains nearly 3,00 job boards and is, by far the most
comprehensive listing (we still estimate the total number of boards to be
somewhere near 20,000). The suppliers
database is an inside the industry marketing goldmine.
Recruitment
mag.co.uk is, fairly obviously, another British entrant. Offering
free email and an agency
database, a job board and an ongoing salary survey, it isn't always clear
who the audience is.
RecruitMagazine
is a registration
based offering that somehow takes 48 hours to process a login name.
Overall, the RecruitersNetwork
is starting to reliably produce excellent
content. We hope that they keep getting better.
Our longstanding favorite is
a very occasional newsletter called the Whole
of The Moon. An irreverent look at the world of Recruitment Ads. It
substantiates the rumor that the English sense of humor is drier than the Texas
sand.
