Espan posts job listings on their website, the major online networks and in the Usenet newsgroups. The service goes to extraordinary lengths to make use easy for job hunters, employers and recruiters. The recent redesign is an attempt to differentiate themselves in the Marketplace. They've called their career resources section "Career Companion". Like a companion, it anticipates related requirements (not through technology but through solid information design). The pastel colors of the new look are, we think, designed to create an overall feeling of ease. It works, sort of. It was a bold experiment in a competitive environment.They are also to be commended for hype avoidance. Their email notification system for job hunters is called just that; not a Personal Agent.Their status reports for advertisers should be an industry model.
