The Work Force Has Expanded
A new law signed by President Clinton could allow as many as 8 million Americans with disabilities to go to work without fear of losing their Federal health insurance. Under the new law, Medicare recipients could retain this insurance for 8 1/2 years after taking a higher paying job. The new law also creates options under which states could allow people on Medicaid to buy into that program on a sliding scale according to their income.
