Aetna Honors Martin Luther King Jr. with ‘Aetna Voices of Health’ Campaign

As part of its support for the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project, Aetna (NYSE: AET) has created a national recognition campaign called “Aetna Voices of Health.” The campaign will honor organizations that promote King’s vision of racial equality and individual empowerment, while also sharing Aetna’s goals of closing racial and ethnic health care quality gaps and helping people live healthier lives.

“Dr. King spent his life fighting for people to have the right to determine the paths of their own lives, and the ability to freely pursue their own dreams without obstruction”

Aetna has nominated 35 organizations from across the country that exemplify these qualities. From Aug. 28 through Oct. 8, these groups will participate in an on-line competition for one of three national awards. Aetna will donate $25,000 to the organization receiving the most on-line votes; $15,000 to the second-place finisher; and $10,000 to the third-place finisher. Starting Aug. 28, go to www.aetnavoicesofhealth.com for information about the nominees and the voting process.
