Survey Says ...
The Kenexa High Performance Institute (KHPI), a division of global provider of business solutions for human resources Kenexa, revealed its findings on the work attitudes of millennials. In a white paper titled "Attitude? What Attitude?," KHPI shares evidence-based determinations regarding the workforce generational differences specifically related to managing millennials.
Today's workforce is comprised of baby boomers (born 1943-1960), generation X (born 1961-1981) and millennials, who were born between 1982 and 2003. There are more than 80 million millennials in the U.S. alone and while many of them are already in the workforce, the rest are on the verge of entering it. A fair amount of sensationalistic journalism has heralded the emergence of the millennials in the workforce, setting expectations that they expect preferential treatment and are apt to be difficult to manage.
