The Welsh Assembly Government has announced a $40.8 million (26 million pound) investment designed to grow its manufacturing industry, creating more than 130 skilled jobs and safeguarding hundreds more. The ASTUTE (Advanced Sustainable manUfacturing TEchnologies) project will target the aerospace and automotive sectors, as well as other high technology manufacturing, to create sustainable, higher value goods and services and bring them to a global market.
HealthcareSource, the leading provider of talent management software solutions for the healthcare industry, has acquired TestSource, a leading provider of behavioral-based, pre-employment assessments for the healthcare industry. The announcement was made during Talent Outcomes, the HealthcareSource 2010 User Conference being held this week at the Chicago Marriott Downtown. TestSource's healthcare industry assessment and retention solutions include the Healthcare Selection Inventory and the Healthcare Leadership Inventory.
Taleo Corporation, the leading provider of on-demand talent management solutions, was awarded the RPO Technology of the Year Award from the Human Resources Outsourcing Association (HROA). The HROA includes outsourcing partners such as IBM, Hewitt and Accenture. This award distinguishes Taleo from other talent management providers and speaks to the strength and scalability of Taleo's technology for the largest and most complex organizations in the world, that tend to work with HRO partners. During the past twelve months Davies has played a significant role in defining the company's strategic direction in terms of product, markets and positioning. TalentDrive, the creator of the online resume search engine, TalentFilter, has appointed Jeff Tomaszewski as the company's Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Tomaszewski has extensive technology leadership experience and most recently served as a Technology Lead Manager at Allstate Insurance Company. Prior to working at Allstate, Mr. Tomaszewski held Senior Developer, Platform Analyst Manager and Software Engineer positions with Citigroup, Broadspire Services, Inc., and Integrated Performance Systems, Inc.
Survey Says . . .
Although many executives saw their pay decrease in 2009, the salaries for most executive jobs are finally beginning to rebound. The Executive Compensation 2010/2011 survey results found the average base salary for a company president is $241,900. This reflects an increase of 5.6 percent since 2009.
Chief operating officers are earning $217,400 per year, 1.3 percent more than in 2009. The average base salary for a vice president has increased from $153,500 to $157,700. Chief information officers and treasurers have seen pay increases of more than 6 percent this year, earning them $187,100 and $168,100, respectively. Chief executive officers are one of the few jobs reflecting a decrease, going from $346,600 in 2009 to $332,900 in 2010. (read more)
