As the nation celebrates the 90th anniversary of women's right to vote, the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC) released a new report analyzing how women's economic conditions have changed since Geraldine Ferraro shattered the political glass ceiling 25 years ago and ushered in a new era of political leadership for women.

ADP, a leading provider of HR, payroll and benefits administration services, announced that it has completed its acquisition of privately-held Workscape, Inc., a premier provider of integrated benefits and talent management solutions and services.

The Washington Department of Ecology (Ecology) has secured a $1.9 million federal AmeriCorps grant to help support 180 Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) jobs across the state. Ecology is now recruiting young adults between 18 and 25 years old to fill the positions. The new group of recruits will carry out a wide range of projects in the upcoming service year – Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, 2011.

Authorized by the candidate and conducted by its exclusive partner TalentWise, the background check will consist of a 10 year criminal record search, 10 year civil record search, 10 year employment verification, post-secondary education verification, professional license verification, and a national sex offender registry search.

East Durham College has signed a five year in-house contract for MidlandHR's iTrent. Operating across two campuses in Peterlee and Houghall near Durham, the college also offers courses in local community venues, as well as providing work force development within individual work places across the county. iTrent will provide one single solution for managing the HR, payroll, talent management and workforce planning needs of around 600 employees.
