Galmont Consulting, a Chicago-based technology firm specializing in software quality assurance, testing and business analysis services, announced today that the firm is opening a software testing and quality assurance facility in Lexington, KY, during a press conference with Governor Steve Beshear at the University of Kentucky.

This includes substantial portions of accounting and finance, human resources and training, marketing and communications, learning and development, library and information services, research, information technology, facilities and other services. The total value of services addressed by this agreement is $852 million, the legal industry's largest outsourcing agreement ever.

YouTern, a first-to-market online community for internships linking exceptional talent to start-ups and entrepreneurial companies, announced the launch of their pilot program. Available now in California, YouTern plans to expand across the country over the next 12 months.

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that its acquisition of scientific-equipment maker Varian, Inc. is now final, positioning Agilent as a leading provider of analytical instrumentation to the applied and life sciences markets. Agilent paid approximately $1.5 billion in cash for Varian in a deal that brings together two Silicon Valley pioneers.

Forestar Group, an Austin-based company focused on sustainability and growth solutions in real estate, mineral resources and fiber resources, will leverage Data Foundry's colocation facility infrastructure for its mission-critical server needs, including redundant power, HVAC and network services.

Greythorn, IT and telecoms recruiter, has implemented a front office staffing system from recruitment software provider Bullhorn to manage communication with candidates, colleagues, and clients from one system.The Bullhorn system ensures email is integrated with application, while internet resources such as LinkedIn are accessible directly so all relevant activities, such as emails to candidates, are tracked automatically.

Intelligent HR Recruiter, an Australian software provider, has launched its eponymous flagship software product.The employee mapping solution provides both present and potential employee background information so that there are no ‘anomalies' between who they have actually recruited and who employees claim they are.

Kenexa, global business and HR applications provider, introduced a unified talent management platform, which includes functionality for the mobile environment. The system, Kenexa 2x, which runs on the software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, features recruitment, onboarding and performance management, plus a range of applications based on this functionality for the iPhone and Blackberry mobile devices

StepStone, a talent management software provider, has completed the sale of its StepStone Solutions talent management software division to European sector focused private equity investor HgCapital for €110m (£95m).

The sale follows Axel Springer's purchase of StepStone in December 2009. Axel Springer retains ownership of StepStone's online job boards business, which has been successfully integrated into Axel Springer's digital media division.

Both Colin Tenwick, chief executive of StepStone, and Ian Cole, chief financial officer, will leave the organization at the end of the month.
