APQC, a nonprofit best-practices research firm, has released the results of its bi-annual benchmarking survey revealing how more than 200 organizations view and implement benchmarking activities. The State of Benchmarking 2009 Report is available for download through May 15th at www.apqc.org/benchmarking2009.
TrueBlue, Inc., a leading provider of blue-collar staffing, reported a net loss of $2.3 million or $0.05 per diluted share for the first quarter of 2010, compared to a net loss of $5.3 million or $0.12 per diluted share for the first quarter of 2009. Revenue for the quarter was $240 million, an increase of 7 percent compared to revenue of $224 million for the first quarter of 2009.
In 2009, TrueBlue connected approximately 300,000 people to work through the following brands: Labor Ready, Spartan Staffing, CLP Resources, PlaneTechs, and Centerline, and served approximately 175,000 businesses in the services, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, transportation, and construction industries

Shape Up The Nation, the first wellness company focused on leveraging the power of trusted social networks to promote healthy living, announced that CEO Mike Zani will participate in an America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) 2010 virtual symposium on workplace wellness (April 28 and May 5).
The panel, "Learning to Question Worksite Wellness," occurred on April 21 and explored how wellness programs can create productivity while engaging employees and will examine traditional and non-traditional program elements to a successful worksite wellness program.
