Employaid, an online community and resource center to help corporate employees achieve career success, launches Employaid Exchange, a Web-based question and answer system that enables Employaid members to ask work and career questions of workplace experts and receive quick, personalized responses.

Talent Alliance, Inc., a global provider of talent acquisition and talent management solutions firm, has completed a merger with Soar Consulting, Inc., a provider of military transition recruiting. Immediately following the merger, Soar Consulting, Inc. will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Talent Alliance, Inc.

The National Utilities Diversity Council and PJM Interconnection announce a joint internship and fellowship program to identify, recruit and place qualified students and advanced degree earners drawn from communities of diversity. The purpose of the diversity internship and fellowship program is to increase the number of African-American, American Indian, Asian, Hispanic, women, service disabled war veterans, and others in under-represented communities of diversity in the utility industry.

Deloitte announced that its global revenues totaled $27.4 billion (£13.6 billion) worldwide during the fiscal year 2008.The data represents an 18-percent increase from the figures in 2007. Deloitte's financial advisory service grew the most by 26.6 percent, with consulting following it at 22.2 per cent.

Though the number of jobs created in the medical field slowed in June overall, according to Medzilla. In June, the largest share of downsizing reports came from hospital systems and medical centers. Only a few pharmaceutical companies announced layoffs in June, most notably GlaxoSmithKline. Two-thirds of the top 15 states for health care employment saw employers increase their searches for new applicants in June. Only New Jersey (7.8 percent) and California (2.2 percent) showed significant downswings in resume searches. Sales representative searches were up by 2.2 percent overall, but nursing was the opening most employers wanted to fill -- 2.4 percent of resume searches on MedZilla.com were for nurses. Research also showed a small percentage of growth. Meanwhile, management position searches fell by 2.4 percent in June, reflecting the trend in outplacement reports that stresses streamlining of supervisory tasks.
