A new report from eQuest.com looking that the best days to post on the internet and candidate viewing habits, finds that candidates are now searching steadily throughout the week, with a significant decline in search activity over the weekend. Specifically, 2007 data shows that Monday through Friday registered a consistent 18% daily viewing share of the total week's activity. Saturday and Sunday declined to 5% per day. Also revealed is that job seekers searched for jobs most frequently during their work day, with a sharp increase in viewing activity beginning at 12 noon and continuing at a consistent rate until 4PM.

Shareholders in staffing agency Vedior approved its takeover by Dutch peer Randstad, putting the merged firm right behind Switzerland's Adecco. Randstad booked a 3-rise in net profit at €73.3m for the first three months of 2008. Vedior booked net profit of €46.9m in the first quarter of 2008, compared with €44.7m a year earlier. Turnover was up to just over €2bn due largely to 'substantial' growth in France.

Jobster pulled it off. Last week its investment group came up with $7 million in a fourth round of financing. This latest "D" round of financing brings to $56 million the total amount invested in the company since its founding.

InterviewStudio, a new rich media platform used for the initial interview of a job candidate, has been selected by Gartner as one of four Cool Vendors for Human Capital Management Software 2008. The Bellevue, Washington-based company, launched in 2007, offers a SaaS model portal for employers and recruiters to quickly view complete Candidate Showcases before bringing the candidate in for the first round of interviews.
