Go-To-Market Strategies, a Seattle-based sales and marketing resource center, today announced the launch of QUALIFIED, an online job board that lists only authentic sales and marketing positions. The job board, now accepting both job postings and applicants for consideration, includes 24/7 access to sales and marketing positions nationwide, status updates on open jobs, and the Go-To-Market Strategies' insider perspective on selected postings. Kenexa, a global provider of talent acquisition and retention solutions, announced that Jack W. Silicon Alley Insider asks, "What's Next For Newspapers?". Think newspapers have it rough now? Wait until the bottom really drops out. Four years ago, the Journal Register was a group of thriving community newspapers with a stock price above $25 and a $1 billion market cap. Now, it's a shell of a company whose equity is worth all of $10 million, is getting booted off the New York Stock Exchange, and whose stock is trading at 16 cents. Could it be that the Journal Register was just horrifically mismanaged and that other newspapers will find a happier route out of the current Craigslist-and-Internet-news-sponsored mess? It could be. JRC is collapsing under a gigantic pile of debt. On the other hand, other newspapers have piles of debt, too, and their managements seem similarly disinclined to open their eyes to the long-term reality. So perhaps the Journal Register is just a sign of things to come.

Cytiva, developers of the SonicRecruit talent acquisition system, announced the release of SonicPerform, a new employee performance management system designed for mid-sized organizations. Cytiva also has released a white paper entitled Six Key Steps to Successfully Select and Implement a Performance Management System, which provides organizations with a real-world, rational roadmap of how to approach system selection and implementation.

TechCrunch, who broke this story, reports that Google and Salesforce officially announced the complete integration of Google Apps (Docs, Calendar, Gmail, and Gtalk) and Salesforce's online enterprise apps. Google Apps will get exposure to Salesforce's one million paying business subscribers, and Salesforce in turn will become more attractive to the "tens of millions" of business users on Google Apps.
