CareerBuilder.com launches PrimeCB.com, a job search site focused on connecting experienced and retired workers with potential employers. PrimeCB.com allows retirees and other experienced workers to search for part-time, full-time and contract positions.

NCO Group, Inc., a provider of business process outsourcing, has completed its acquisition of Outsourcing Solutions Inc. for $325.0 million in cash, subject to certain post-closing adjustments.

The California Employee Confidence Index dropped 2.3 points to 48.0 in January, the lowest level recorded in the history of the survey. The monthly survey of California workers, conducted by Harris Interactive(R) on behalf of Spherion Corporation, indicates that while more workers feel uneasy about the strength of the economy and job availability, more remain confident in their personal employment situation. Of California workers: 71% percent believe the economy is getting weaker, an increase of eight percentage points from December; 55% of workers are confident in their ability to find a new job, up one percentage point from the previous month; and 77% believe it is unlikely they will lose their job in the next 12 months, an increase of one percentage point from 76 in December.

Study States:
The latest cross-culture study from Kenexa indicates that among the 6 countries surveyed, only 25% of workers believe their organizations provide strong guidance in terms of goal setting, managerial feedback and career development. Workers in the United States are more likely (53%) to indicate their organizations invest in and regularly practice talent management, compared to approximately 10% of surveyed workers in Germany and China. It also finds that those organizations with a focus on talent management have employees, who are more engaged and who are more satisfied with their job and the company overall. Additionally, if employees have favorable views of the organization's talent management practices, they are more likely to have confidence in the future of the organization.
