The U.S. Department of Labor announces a
$5,572,226 grant to California to provide employment and training assistance for
approximately 863 workers dislocated as a result of statewide layoffs from companies
within the mortgage and banking industries. The grant, awarded to the California
Employment Development Department, will provide affected workers with a full array of
dislocated worker services that may include skills assessment, individual career
counseling, career and occupational skills training, and relocation assistance.
HireRight, Inc. reports increased net income of
$1.3 million ($0.11 per share) compared to $586 thousand ($0.00 per share) a year ago. On
average, four analysts surveyed by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to
earn $0.10 per share for the quarter. Total revenue increased 21.2% to $17.15 million
from $14.19 million in the prior year period. Four analysts estimated revenues of $16.19
million for the quarter. For fiscal 2007, net income was $6.2 million ($0.60 per share)
compared to $2.02 million ($0.73 per share) in the previous year.
