Atlanta Recruiting Roadshow Recap
A week
ago, we barnstormed
Atlanta. With our own version of a
flying circus, led by the one and only
Amitai Givertz, the
Atlanta
Recruiting Roadshow left the audience smiling and hungry for more. Over
the next couple of weeks, you'll hear more about the material and the
presenters.Where else do you get
a day of free professional development content, a free lunch and the
opportunity to mix it up with colleagues in your town? The idea behind
the roadshow is that the vast majority of the professionals in our

MonsterTRAK Joins Forces with ecoAmerica to Launch GreenCareers by MonsterTRAK
First Service Exclusively Designed to Promote Availability of
Green Jobs for College Students and Recent Grads
According to a recent MonsterTRAK study, 80 percent of young professionals are interested in securing a job that impacts the environment in a positive way, and 92 percent give preference to working for a company that is environmentally friendly.[1] To help young workers identify these opportunities, MonsterTRAK, in alliance with ecoAmerica, today announced GreenCareers by MonsterTRAK, the first environmentally responsible recruitment service for college students and recent graduates. MonsterTRAK is the division of Monster for college students and recent graduates. Monster is the leading global online careers and recruitment resource, and flagship brand of Monster Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNST). ecoAmerica is an environmental non-profit that shifts personal and civic choices with innovative consumer research and marketing.
"By introducing the concept of ‘green careers' to mainstream college students and recent graduates, we hope to deliver an inspiring message that young professionals can find jobs that not only present tremendous opportunities for their future, but also aid in the fight against global warming," said Mark Charnock, vice president and general manager, MonsterTRAK. "GreenCareers by MonsterTRAK serves as a place that connects young people and employers with the emerging sustainable economy in a concrete way, making the environment more personally relevant for both parties."
Green Jobs and Green Companies
GreenCareers by MonsterTRAK will offer job seekers the opportunity to identify both green jobs and green companies, enabling direct participation in the rapidly emerging green economy. These jobs span all occupations and industries, and can be found in the smallest start-ups or the largest multinational firms.
A "green job" is any position in which an employee makes, markets, sells, supports, executes or promotes a service, product or public policy that is beneficial to the environment because it (1) prevents pollution, (2) reduces the consumption of natural resources or (3) actively promotes the appreciation or protection of nature.
Similarly, a "green company" is also defined by the aforementioned criteria and can encompass a range of industries, such as energy conservation, socially responsible investing, sustainable tourism and non-profit environmental advocacy. Additionally, any job – regardless of its function – within a green company or organization also qualifies for listing, such as an accountant at an organic food company.
"There is no better place to start a career today than in the green economy, and GreenCareers by MonsterTRAK will help today's young workforce find these opportunities," said Robert Perkowitz, president, ecoAmerica. "We applaud MonsterTRAK for taking a leadership role and enabling Americans to make professional choices that will aid in the improvement of our environment."
GreenCareers by MonsterTRAK will feature entry-level, part-time and internship opportunities at organizations of all sizes. Environmental Defense, a leading national nonprofit that helps create breakthrough solutions for serious environmental problems, will sponsor and support the service with educational content and information.
