How To Spam Recruiting.com
Yesterday, as I was trying to understand the recent uptick in voting results on Recruiting.com, I accidentally deleted a couple of posts. I was surprised at the fact that a few posts garnered an enormous number of votes within ten or so minutes of being posted. (If I remember, each post had about 15 votes.) Generally speaking, the number of votes per article is on the rise.

I apologize for the deletions. As I have said, I have no intention of becoming a traffic cop or a hall monitor on recruiting.com. If I deleted your article, please repost it. (Read More)

Deep Release:
Monster Employment Index Europe Extended to Provide First Insight into Online Employment Trends across the European Union Index Reports Increase in June Online Hiring Across Europe, with Increased Recruitment Activity in Hospitality and Tourism Sector

Monster Worldwide and Monster Europe today unveiled the extended Monster Employment Index Europe, a monthly analysis of online hiring activity across the European Union1 designed to provide a clearer understanding of worker demand in key markets across the region. The Index provides analyses across and within countries in the European Community, as well as showing changes in demand for occupational categories and industry sectors.

Launched in June 2005, the Index previously measured employment trends across and within five key European countries; the Index now tracks online employment trends across the European Union. The Index is based on an analysis of millions of online job opportunities culled from 148 job boards across Europe, including Monster®'s 21 EU sites, and is audited by ARC Research.

"We're excited to be extending the Index and look forward to providing Europe-wide online employment trend information to European market watchers for the first time," said Alan Townsend, COO Monster UK & Ireland. "As well as producing Index reports for the top five European economies, we are now producing quarterly Index reports for Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Ireland and Italy. All these include occupational, industry and regional analyses and are designed to contribute a clearer understanding of online hiring activity in key markets across the EU," added Townsend.

In June, the Index revealed an increase in the overall level of online job availability across Europe as it reached a value of 145. Online recruitment activity has increased by 19%. The June rise was due to greater online worker demand in France and the UK. There was also a sharp increase hiring in the hospitality and tourism sector in Greece, Cyprus and Slovenia. Meanwhile, there was a decline in online hiring across the Baltic2 countries.

Sectors showing the greatest increase in online job availability include hospitality and tourism; and production, manufacturing, maintenance and repair. The telecoms sector saw the highest decline in hiring. The Index also found that it was mostly white-collar occupational categories such as legislators, senior officials and managers; and professionals that saw the highest rate of increase.

"The Index has risen steadily over the last five months, bringing the overall level of Index up to a new high. With many regions around Europe continuing to report a strong performance in the hospitality and tourism sector, the summer season seems to be in full swing," commented Townsend. "Germany in particular, has shown particularly high levels of online job demand over the last few months, with heavy industries like production and manufacturing showing strong growth."

Monster Employment Index Europe data for July will be released on August 14, 2007.
