Deep Release: Smart Women's Coaching Launches Café
New virtual community connects women in transition.
Women who find themselves in transition or are in the process of reinventing themselves have a new option for support, advice and resources. Smart Women's Coaching founders, Katana Abbott and Jill Jordan, have initiated an online women's collaborative, focused on connecting women on a global basis.
Abbott and Jordan, backed by an experienced advisory board from across the U.S. and Canada, reveal their successful secrets of collaborating, sharing and co-promoting--the exact opposite of the traditional competition between professional women.
"As women advance in their careers and move up the corporate ladder, they are often reluctant to share, with other women, the tips or secrets that got them there because they may be threatened by the fact that there are too few seats at the top for women," says Jordan.
Last February, the long-time friends began discussing how to create a virtual café where women could connect with some of the top coaches, consultants and programs in the world while learning to live with purpose, passion and prosperity. Within four months, they had created an on-line community with 20 advisory board members who also serve as contributing experts on their website. Smart Women's Café was born.
For $19/month, Café members are part of a network and have access to the monthly Café Chat™ group coaching call, Idea Lab on-line forum, "Ask the Expert" email coaching, Smart Women Talk™ Podcasts, a complete library of e-books and articles, and live events across the globe.
The Café is both a business to business network and an educational and networking community where women can find support to determine their direction and learn what steps they can take to achieve their goals. Abbott advises, "Learn to network with your colleagues and don't be afraid to share your ideas. The co-promotions and joint ventures that are forming from these relationships wouldn't have happened without this kind of open forum."
About Katana Abbott and Jill Jordan
Abbott is a certified financial planner who built a $100 million investment management and financial planning practice over 20 years and recently retired to follow her dream--Smart Women's Coaching. Jordan's background is in sales and marketing, specializing in start-ups like Hello Kitty, Menttium and IntervieWize. Jordan is the "networking diva" and a leader in personal branding and professional presence. Jordan's motto is, "If you don't brand yourself, someone else will."
To get a taste of the Café, visit http://www.smartwomenscoaching.com and sign up for their Café Chat group coaching session on Monday, July 16th from 1 - 2 pm EST. This call is free to the public. You can also register for the free 7-part audio mini course entitled "Your Perfect Life Focus - The Secret of the Law of Attraction" on their home page.
Survey Says: Orange County, California Recruitment Company Embraces Part-Time Working Mother Business Model
New survey finds that 60% of working mothers prefer part-time.
Decision Toolbox (http://www.dtoolbox.com) employee Heidi Webster is a working mom who knows the benefits of working part-time from her virtual home office in Centreville, Virginia. She is the mother of three children - a five year-old, three-old and a newborn only eight weeks old.
"I love the flexibility because I don't start my day until noon on the East Coast since the company is on the West Coast. I can have the balance of spending quality time with my kids in the morning and then work all afternoon until my husband gets home and relieves our nanny from her duties," said Webster, a recruiter for Decision Toolbox, a leading recruitment company based in Irvine, California.
According to the results of a national survey released by The Pew Research Center (http://www.pewresearch.org) last week, six in 10 working mothers said part-time jobs would be their ideal, up from 48 percent in 1997. "I feel this is a true reading of where people are at, what they think is best for their children, and how to juggle their responsibilities as a parent and worker," states Pew researcher Cary Funk.
"Nearly 20 percent of our employees work part-time," said Kim Shepherd, CEO of Decision Toolbox (http://www.dtoolbox.com). "Work-life balance is critical in building a strong and lasting corporate culture. Nothing will retain top talent more than creating an environment where your employees are recognized as people who deserve to be respected, understood and honored."
