Survey Says: Orange County, California Recruitment Company Embraces Part-Time Working Mother Business Model
New survey finds that 60% of working mothers prefer part-time.
Decision Toolbox (http://www.dtoolbox.com) employee Heidi Webster is a working mom who knows the benefits of working part-time from her virtual home office in Centreville, Virginia. She is the mother of three children - a five year-old, three-old and a newborn only eight weeks old.
"I love the flexibility because I don't start my day until noon on the East Coast since the company is on the West Coast. I can have the balance of spending quality time with my kids in the morning and then work all afternoon until my husband gets home and relieves our nanny from her duties," said Webster, a recruiter for Decision Toolbox, a leading recruitment company based in Irvine, California.
According to the results of a national survey released by The Pew Research Center (http://www.pewresearch.org) last week, six in 10 working mothers said part-time jobs would be their ideal, up from 48 percent in 1997. "I feel this is a true reading of where people are at, what they think is best for their children, and how to juggle their responsibilities as a parent and worker," states Pew researcher Cary Funk.
