The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for Web sites, today recognized Monster's Career Advice portal (http://content.monster.com) as the Best Employment Web site of 2006. The site is produced by the Monster Content Team. Award winners will be honored today at The Tenth Annual Webby

the parent company of Monster, the leading global online careers and recruitment resource, today announced that a committee of independent directors of the Company has been conducting an internal review and analysis of all stock option grants previously issued by the Company. The committee of independent
directors has retained independent outside legal counsel to assist in this matter. Monster Worldwide's broad-based stock option incentive plan was used as an effective tool to facilitate its growth. The option grants were used to attract and retain employees, to recognize individual performance and in
conjunction with strategic acquisitions. Monster Worldwide sought to distribute option awards broadly throughout the organization. Of the options granted by Monster Worldwide or predecessor companies whose options converted into Monster Worldwide options upon acquisition, more than 70 percent were issued to
individuals other than insiders. Monster Worldwide noted that consistent with developments in executive compensation, in 2006 the Company commenced providing performance-based incentives to senior leadership through a restricted stock unit program rather than through stock options.

World Cup offers media firms only a short-term fillip
ALL sorts of mythical qualities have been attributed to the World Cup, which has introduced a curious form of seasonality to some parts of business life. At the beginning of the year it was anticipated that the World Cup would herald a strong year for advertising, and hence consumer media companies. At one
point Zenith was predicting healthy improvement in the ad market, but disturbingly, the money has not flowed through at all. (Times Online)
Keyword Advertising - Cost-Per-Click Text Ads Drive Traffic Directly To Your Own Site
This is the fourth and final article in a series that will identify what's ahead in recruitment for the coming year. "What's Ahead" will examine the state of the economy, evolving technologies, strategic planning, and how these issues affect and influence recruitment. Across industries, the employment
marketplace is becoming more competitive. If your recruitment challenges require that you become more aggressive in attracting applicant flow, then you should consider an advertising strategy that enables prospective candidates to see your message above any other job board postings that would compete for
applicant attention. You need to have your message where the candidates begin their Internet job search, or where they go to find information about their vocational interests. (OnRec)
India:
Bridging employer, recruiter gap
Job portals headcount in India is getting stronger by the day. The rise, to some extent, has also fuelled a gap between employers and recruiting firms. While job portals reduce the role of recruiting firms, here's one web-based third party recruiter management system that promises to bring employers and
recruiter under a single platform. Recruitmentalliance.com, based in West Palm Beach (USA), is set to launch its Indian operation christened recruitmentallianceindia.com. The Indian version will be operated from Hyderabad. Employers will have multiple
options of recruiters to choose from. Ditto goes for the recruiters. Once an employer posts a job order, registered recruiters can submit their candidates. But not before agreeing to the terms and conditions set by the employer. The recruiter gets paid only after the entire process is over. (MoneyControl)

London workforce needs to better reflect its diversity
Recruiters need to dramatically rethink the way they advertise for staff if London's workforce is to reflect its diverse communities, argues Mike Rowley, Classified & Digital Advertisement Director at the Evening Standard. During a recent presentation to senior staff of London's top recruitment advertising
agencies, Rowley issued a rallying cry for championing best practice, and challenged traditional buying decisions. Rowley highlighted the need to start working with audited audiences rather than the customary marketplace-driven approach. (OnRec)
