Staffing industry revenue growth is forecast to be 11.1% in 2005, up from the initial forecast of 10.4% overall growth, according to Staffing Industry Analysts, Inc. "We expect place and search, accounting, tech/engineering and legal to be particularly strong," said Barry Asin, Chief
Industry Analyst for Staffing Industry Analysts. "The relative weak spots are expected to be industrial temporary staffing, which was one of the top segments in 2004, and healthcare staffing, which is still in the early stages of recovery."

California's employment picture brightened significantly in July as the state added tens of thousands of jobs and the unemployment rate dropped. The state's jobless rate was 5.1 percent in July, down from 5.4 percent in June, when it went up a tick from 5.3 percent in May, the state
Employment Development Department said Friday. (SFGate)

Due to their poor educational background and lack of training, many farmers-turned-migrant workers have always had a hard time landing decent jobs in cities. More often than not, they are only qualified for manual jobs, usually with meagre pay. At the same time, migrant workers
who are trained in specific occupations find it easy to hook a job, and usually a relatively well-paid one too.
Xinyang, a city in Central China's Henan Province, has noticed this trend. The local government set up many training schools to teach farmers skills and then sent them to seek jobs in cities. As expected, those trained migrant workers had little difficulty finding an ideal job. (China

Florida's jobless rate fell to 4.0 percent in July and the national rate remained at 5.2 percent, agency statistics show. The numbers are not seasonally adjusted, which means they reflect gains and losses of seasonal jobs. Florida again led the nation in job creation in July, adding
240,100 jobs since July 2004 -- a 3.2 percent gain in nonagricultural jobs. During that time, Brevard County added 5,300 jobs -- a 2.6 percent increase. (Florida Today)

In summary, SimplyHired and Indeed did the best job with my search. The search results showed the job title, a link to the posting, a brief description of the position, where it was located and where it was originally listed. The results are easy to read, uncluttered with extra
information and the navigation is simply and user friendly. One of the things I like best about Indeed is that it looks and feels like a search engine. SimplyHired has a few more options, but, do I really need to rate the job listings I look at? From my perspective, I'm interested in fast,
relevant results that are easy to navigate. That said, it's worth taking the time to use more than one job search engine site. The job listings aren't exactly the same and you never know which position might just be the one that's perfect for you.

As Indian IT goes places, the next country eyeing the knowledge shores of India is Hungary. A batch of students from Hungary is here for a training programme initiated by Satyam Computer. "There are around 30 graduates from Hungary who are currently in India undergoing
induction. They are a part of the Satyam ‘global sourcing' initiative where foreign nationals are recruited, inducted/trained and later placed in the company," a spokesperson told FE. These students will later work out of Hungary or elsewhere, serving Satyam clients the world over, said the
spokesperson. He added: "Other firms are coming to Hungary, while we're taking Hungary to the world". (Financial Express)

AT FIRST GLANCE, 18-month-old Jobster seems to have re-created the 1999 dot-com office cliché. The online recruiting startup occupies a loft in Pioneer Square with exposed brick, a wide-open floor plan, a ping-pong table and a dog running loose. But the similarities between this young
company and the dot-coms that fell before it end there. The difference, as founder Jason Goldberg puts it, is: "Web 1.0: arrogance. Web 2.0: humility." (SeattleTimes)
