51job, Inc. (Nasdaq: JOBS ), a provider of integrated human resource services in China, announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2005.
Yahoo launched the beta version of its publisher network that should soon be competing with Google's Adsense. The service is designed to let publishers access Yahoo's ad products and content through a self-serve platform. The company said the beta offering
will be available in the U.S. only through invitation. With this move, Yahoo is entering a territory that has been dominated by rival Google, which provides text-only ads to small content sites, including blogs.
Job search vertical Indeed.com has added several "hundred new job sources in the last month including the career pages of most of the Fortune 500."

order to remain competitive
Summary: U.S. multinationals are no longer granting U.S. levels of stock options to their international executives, but instead are setting option award sizes closer to local market practices in other countries, according to Towers Perrin's Global Long-Term Incentive Policies Survey. The survey, which
included 75 multinational respondents with median sales of $16 billion, found that 39% of companies have or will move to an approach of differentiating option grant sizes by geography. This represents a substantial change in practice.

The unemployment rate for Hispanics dropped to 5.5% in July, according to data released today by the U.S. Department of Labor. The unemployment rate among Hispanics dropped from 5.8 percent in June, further narrowing the gap with the
overall U.S. unemployment rate of 5.0 percent which was unchanged from June. Hispanics gained 75,000 new jobs in July, absorbing 17,000 Hispanics who joined the labor force. These new workers came from an increase in the U.S. Hispanic population of 89,000, though that also added 72,000 Hispanics
that did not join the labor force. On an annual basis, employment of Hispanics has increased by 596,000 jobs, bringing the Hispanic unemployment rate down from 6.8 percent in July 2004 to the current 5.5 percent. (HispanicBusiness.com)
