The
United States Department of Labor Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report : In the week
ending Feb. 19, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 312,000, an increase of
9,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 303,000.
Reveille
Employment Screening Resources (ESR), a pre-employment background screening firm, announced
the release of a free web based interview guide generator to help employers build printed
interview forms for any position to avoid the potential of discrimination in the interviewing process.
Using a "structured interview" guide during applicant interviews helps employers ask permissible
questions in a consistent fashion for all applicants for a position. The free tool is available
from the ESR website.
Softscape, a strategic people management technology and services, introduces its new
Workforce Planning suite to provide organisations a complete platform for enterprise time and labour
management. The suite includes resource demand planning, project portfolio management,
expense management, time/attendance, and position management.
New Combinations
Monster Government Solutions, has entered into a joint marketing and vendor
agreement with the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR), a
non-profit, membership organization dedicated to providing
resources and advocacy for all levels of public human resource professionals.
Investment Capital
Payformance, a developer of technology for
corporate and healthcare payments and reporting,
raised $6 million in its fourth round of venture capital. The investment was led by
Wachovia
Strategic Ventures and existing investor ABS Capital Partners.
