Job Growth
Virginia Governor Mark Warner reports that four companies plan to hire more than 11,000 new workers for IT-related jobs in Northern Virginia, with the total investment exceeding $351 million. Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) will create 4,515 jobs with a $96-million investment, SRA International will hire 1,400 new employees and invest $50 million, PricewaterhouseCoopers will create 600 jobs through a $72 million investment, and Booz Allen Hamilton will create up to 4,600 jobs through a $133-million investment. Over the past three years, approximately 35,000 new homeland security jobs have been created in Virginia. Thanks to PotomacTechWire.

Job Growth III
According to a recent survey of recruiters, ExecuNet, the executive job search and recruiting network, finds that the demand for executive talent will continue to climb, increasing an additional 20 percent in the upcoming 6 months. If recruiters' expectations continue to prove accurate, companies will be forced to devote more attention to recruitment and retention in 2005.
