IE Engine, a provider of Human Resource Cost Management (HRCM) services and technology, will integrate the industry data and expertise of HR.com into its HRCM services and software.

Hire.com, a provider of Global Enterprise Recruiting solutions, extends its global job-posting support contract with eQuest, a job-posting distribution services firm. Hire.com also upgrades its HireEnterprise solution to the eQuest 2.0 service platform.

CDI Corp., a Philadelphia staffing company, reports third-quarter earnings of $2.3 million, down from nearly $6 million in the third quarter of 2003, while revenue dipped slightly from $264.4 million in 2003 to $263.2 million in the same period.

Robert Half International, a provider of staffing and consulting services, post a sharply higher third-quarter profit, helped by a increased revenue across all of its divisions.

It's Coming…
The unemployment problem will evaporate as baby boomers retire, according to Jeff Taylor, creating one of the worst labor shortages, starting in 2008. Speaking with Roanoke Times, he explains that driving that shortage will be 3 main factors combining into a perfect storm for American business—The exit of some 70 million baby boomers from the market; the short tenure of today's employees, who are more mobile and much more willing to switch companies and locations; and an increased shortage of knowledge workers as the country is moving from a manufacturing environment to a more skill-oriented environment.
