Productivity and Costs: Second Quarter 2004. The preliminary seasonally adjusted annual rates of productivity change in the second quarter were 1.9 percent in the business sector and 2.9 percent in the nonfarm business sector. In manufacturing, the preliminary productivity changes in the second quarter were 7.5 percent in manufacturing, 5.7 percent in durable goods manufacturing, and 10.7 percent in nondurable goods manufacturing.

Veritude, a provider of strategic human resources, now offers a unique, free e-mail service featuring HR-related cartoons from The New Yorker magazine. Punchline is the licensor of cartoons from the magazine for use in interactive media.
According to a survey conducted by executive job search service TheLadders.com, a majority of job seekers in the $100k+ market are cautiously optimistic about their new job prospects. Of those executives surveyed, 34.6 percent say they expect their current job hunt to last between 3 and 6 months and 30.4 percent anticipate a 1–3-month search.
