JOB OPENINGS AND LABOR TURNOVER: MAY 2004. There were 4.2 million hires and 4.0 million separations in May. The number of hires outpaced the number of separations for the 13th straight month, and there were fewer hires and separations than in April. The job openings rate was unchanged at 2.3 percent in May.

Jobing.com, a network of locally focused employment websites, acquries Rhinomite.com, a South Florida local employment website, including its staff and assets. Jobing.com plans to integrate employer and job seeker content from the Rhinomite.com website into its existing Jobing.com product, offering both client segments enhanced products and services, and will be announcing a launch in the upcoming weeks.

Eptiva, a provider of high tech job-search and interviewing products, makes available the Job Hunter Pro Outplacement Program, designed to provide displaced employees with the tools and resources they need to jumpstart their job search.
